Abu al-Hasan al-Hashimi al-Qureshi, a prominent leader of the Islamic State (IS) group, was recently killed during a battle. The IS group’s spokesman released the audio on Wednesday, saying that the group’s leader Abu al-Hasan al-Hashimi al-Qureshi was killed during a recent battle.

Al-Mujahir said that Abu al-Hussein al-Husayni al-Qurayshi has been named the new leader of the group. IS founder Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in October 2019 in an attack in the northwest.
