PAK vs ENG: About 14 players of the England cricket team were reported to be infected with an unknown virus on Wednesday. Since then, there was suspense on the first Test of the three-match series starting between England and Pakistan in Rawalpindi from Thursday. But now the picture has become clear regarding this. The official Twitter handle of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was given an update regarding this test match at 8 am on Thursday. Let us tell you that till yesterday it was being said that if England players are not fit then this match can start from Friday also. But now the final update on this has come to the fore.
According to the latest decision, the PCB said in its tweet that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has informed them that they are ready to field their playing 11 for the Rawalpindi Test. In such a situation, the first Test match of the series starting in Rawalpindi will start as per the schedule. The England team will play three Test matches on this tour. The second Test will be played in Multan from 9 to 13 December and the third Test in Karachi from 17 to 21 December. These three Tests are considered very important for both the teams in terms of the World Test Championship.
What was the whole matter?
According to the information that came to light on Wednesday, the condition of some England players suddenly worsened. It was told that more than half of the players of the team were hit by some unknown virus and their health deteriorated. Captain Ben Stokes himself was also among those players who did not even do net practice due to ill health. Apart from this, there was also a complaint that some players had upset stomach. However, the medical staff was hopeful that their players would recover within 24 hours. Perhaps that is what has happened so the ECB has informed the PCB about their playing 11 being ready.
On Wednesday, the Pakistan Cricket Board had also issued a press release saying that the PCB is in touch with the England Cricket Board. If the English players are not fit then this match can start from Friday also. But now after the information given by the ECB to the PCB, this match will start as per the schedule. After 17 years, the England team will play a Test match in Pakistan. Earlier in 2005, when both the teams had clashed here, Pakistan had defeated England by an innings and 100 runs.
