BCCI vs PCB: Tension has increased between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) since the T20 World Cup 2022 over the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup 2023. In fact, during the T20 World Cup played in Australia, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had said in a statement that the Indian team would not go to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup and a proposal would be made to change the venue of the tournament. Responding to this, it was said on behalf of PCB that he will not come in the ODI World Cup to be held in India next year. From here onwards, different statements are going on regarding this.

However, this issue is not being given much importance from the Indian side, nor is there much rhetoric going on. But PCB chief Rameez Raja, who is full of chills, is often not deterring from making statements about this at different places. Once again he has given a similar statement. Rameez Raja has once again made a big statement on Sky Sport while talking to England commentator Michael Atherton. He has said that Pakistan cricket is doing well even without BCCI. He also said that we want to come to India and play but also want the Indian team to come here. He talked about opposing the change of venue of Asia Cup 2023.

What did Rameez Raja say?

“We don’t want to discuss this, but cricket fans want us to react,” Rameez Raja told Sky Sports Cricket. India’s narrative about India-Pakistan has hurt fans. .. I think the government has a policy and I don’t know whether they will come or not. The Asia Cup means a lot to the fans. We will oppose the shifting.” He also gave a statement regarding the bilateral series between India and Pakistan and said, we want to play in India and they should also come to Pakistan.

However, further he also gave such a statement which was quite sharp. PCB Chief Rameez Raja said, “We have been playing and moving forward for many years without India. Pakistan has seen the scale of the economy internally and has somehow survived very well.” Significantly, relations between the India and Pakistan cricket boards also deteriorated due to the standoff escalated by the 26-11 attacks. Since then Pakistan team has not toured India while Indian team last went to Pakistan to play Asia Cup in 2008 but again after 26-11 and 2009 attack on Sri Lankan team it was not allowed by Indian government.
