Bangladesh defeated by Kuldeep Yadav’s 5 wickets and Siraj’s 3 wickets

IND vs BAN: In the first match of the Test series being played in Chattogram between India and Bangladesh, Indian bowlers have shown their fire. In the first innings, after the brilliant batting of Cheteshwar Pujara (90), Shreyas Iyer (86) and Ravichandran Ashwin (58), Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammad Siraj broke Bangladesh’s back. India had scored 404 runs in the first innings and in reply Bangladesh team was reduced to just 150 runs. Kuldeep brought the Bangladeshi batsmen to their knees by taking five wickets for the third time in his Test career.

Kuldeep Yadav bowled 16 overs in this match and took 5 wickets for 40 runs. This was the best performance of his Test career. India got a lead of 254 runs on the basis of first innings. The Bangladesh team could not even save the follow-on here. However, the Indian team did not follow on and decided to bat again. In bowling for India, Mohammad Siraj also took three wickets while doing wonders. Apart from them, Akshar Patel and Umesh Yadav also got 1-1 success.

Defensive captaincy of KL Rahul?

KL Rahul is captaining in this match in place of regular captain Rohit Sharma. Bangladesh team failed to save the follow on. Despite this, he did not invite Bangladesh to bat but decided to play the second innings himself. This happened when India had a sizeable lead of 254 and the bowlers were in excellent touch. You had a chance to finish the match today itself. But Captain Rahul adopted a defensive attitude and decided to play again himself. Significantly, the team batting second has to score 199 runs less than the score of the team playing first and if they are not able to do so, the team has to follow on.

Talking about this match, now it has to be seen that how much target Team India sets for Bangladesh in the second innings. Bangladesh’s batting in the first innings was a complete flop and playing in the fourth innings is not easy anyway. So India can declare the innings by scoring at least 250 more runs. A target of around 500 can be very difficult for Bangladesh here. Today is the third day of the match and only two days are left after this. On the third day as well, India started playing in the opening hour of the first session, so there was plenty of time.
