IPL 2023 Mini Auction
IPL 2023 Mini Auction: Before IPL 2023, only a few days are left in the mini auction to be held this month. Cricketers from all over the world will be marketed before this big league is organized. The 5-time champion team Mumbai Indians will also be eyeing everyone in the auction. Let us tell you that the Mumbai team was at the bottom of the league table last season. In such a situation, the Mumbai team would like to include some good players in their team in the auction. Meanwhile, veteran Indian spinner Anil Kumble made a prediction about one player whom the Mumbai team would like to include in their team at any cost.
Mumbai needs this player
Former India leg-spinner Anil Kumble believes five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians are in dire need of a marquee spinner ahead of the 2023 season and said he would prefer to replace an experienced Indian bowler with a foreign spinner. Mumbai had failed to reach the playoffs in the last two seasons. Having released 13 players in November, they will be keen to build a balanced squad through the player auction to be held in Kochi on Friday. He said, Mumbai Indians do not have a marquee spinner. Kartikeya (Kumar Kartikeya Singh) did really well for them last year. If they have to go for an Indian spinner with experience, they will probably go for Amit Mishra or Piyush Chawla.”

Kumble said, “I don’t see that happening. Perhaps the only option for them will be an overseas spinner. Who would it be? Adil Rashid, Tabraiz Shamsi, Adam Zampa. Kumble also feels that Zimbabwe’s off-spin all-rounder Sikandar Raza could be an option for them as he will provide options in the batting line-up as well. He was one of the standout performers in the T20 World Cup. I would probably go with Sikandar Raza as he can give you his spin. Also can provide a terrific middle-order batting (option), which is not easy to pick, and has done well in the recent past.
Mumbai will go into the IPL 2023 player auction with a purse of Rs 20.55 crore. With that amount, he will have to fill the remaining nine slots in the team, of which at least three can be foreign players.
